Tumbledown 8x10 Print
The end goal of each of these projects, trips, adventures was getting outside with my friends to explore and for self care. As someone who battles depression, anxiety and IBS, having great things in my life to look forward to, to have the ability to pursue my passions wholeheartedly, is truly a gift and I’m thankful to have a wife who has been by me every step of the way. When she got accepted to the U.S. Coast Guard officer candidate school I knew my world was going to turn upside down, I just didn’t realize quite how far. I’m an extrovert and time alone used to terrify me, but my dear friend told me, “what are you going to do with this alone time?” Make some art. That’s what. So I dove into a film project I’d been dreaming of for months and one after another passion projects followed. I visited a glacier in Alaska, the desert of Utah and the far reaches of the road system in Kodiak. Each of these places helped me develop my own independence and inspired all my work you see here.
